The Insurance Paradox

This one’s going to be short.
Intentionally so.

You see, there’s this concept I’ve been turning over in my head for the better part of a decade now. And today I just want to let it breathe for a bit.

So no framework or deep dive in this one — just 1 simple idea. Here goes…

We don’t blink before insuring:

But what about the ONE thing that actually pays for it all?

Our Careers? Our earning potential?
Our ability to stay relevant, visible, and in demand?

Why do we leave that fully exposed? 🤷
No built-in protection. No safety net.

Just this blind trust — the kind we’d never extend to our homes, our health, or our savings — yet we extend it, unquestioned, to our careers.

Quite the paradox, isn’t it? ⚖️

I know.. I used to accept this too..

For nearly a decade, I poured everything into the old model of work.

In the moment, it always felt right.
I mean, this is what work was, wasn’t it?
The grind. The sacrifice. The endless push.

It’s the script we all inherit — especially if you’re wired to overdeliver (like me 🙋). But when I finally zoomed out, here’s what I realized…

Meanwhile, my expertise sat trapped in a resume → hostage to the sacred art of reference-checking. The result?

0️⃣ Leverage
0️⃣ Assets
0️⃣ Ownership

Make it make sense..

So all that leverage I thought I built?
Reset the moment I left.

I call it the professional blind spot we’ve all been trained to ignore…

Now — don’t get me wrong.

Working a traditional job in your early years? That will always make sense.

And once you recognize the difference…
The illusion of “security” begins to crack. ❌

Which is also when the existential realization hits:
That no new title or promise is enough to hold it together anymore.
Because what you really need isn’t another promotion.

It’s insurance. Career Insurance.

Not the kind you buy. But the kind you build. 🛠️

It’s the opposite of dependency and the antidote to disruption.

The only thing that can make the next 15 years of work survivable — maybe even extraordinary.

And that’s what my work focuses on today..

Again, this dispatch isn’t the full playbook.
It’s just a timely signal (the first of many)…

A nudge to finally start seeing your career the way you see your car:
Worth Protecting.

To wrap up, let me leave you with a simple question:

What’s insuring your career right now?

If your answer is “nothing”… good. ✅
That means you’re finally seeing the paradox for what it is.
